Sample chapters are now up for Ignite the Fire: Inferno! You can read them here. If you haven’t yet read Incendiary, however, it would be best to leave these until you have. There is a short recap of events at the beginning which is full of spoilers. Just FYI.
Thanks for posting this preview. I’m eagerly awaiting the second half of this novel. I was surprised by the direction the first half took, and I love that you’re experimenting with different story-telling approaches. As another history Ph.D. (my specialty is 5th through 7th c. Britain/England and Gaul/Frankia) who currently teaches the surveys of everything at a community college, I love seeing how you play with history throughout the series. Everything is constructed in a way that both respects the past as recorded and places your own spin on the stories that fits the world you’ve created, which is a testament to your skill as a storyteller. As long as you have story to tell, I’ll be there eagerly consuming it!
Awesome to hear from another historian! Your specialty is a fascinating time period. I did British Empire, but always had a real love for the early eras. It’s the blend of history and myth that always gets me. I’m glad you’re having fun with the books, and I only hope I didn’t butcher your era too badly!
The chapter preview link seems to not be working? I’m excited to read more!
It has taken other people a couple of tries to load, I’m not sure why.
