Ignite the Fire: Inferno is finally about to debut (15th of this month) and I have a favor to ask. The audiobook creators (Tantor Media) need to assign a reader to it, as the current one is no longer able to continue. They’ve given me a couple of options, both of which sound really good. They want me to choose, but I’ve been going back and forth, unable to reach a decision. Can you help?
If you like audiobooks, please leave a comment or message me directly at KarenChance@hotmail.com and let me know which narrator is your favorite. The links below have samples of their work, if you haven’t heard them before. They’re both great artists, so it’s really just a matter of which one resonates with you more. Also, I’ll pick one response at random for a free audiobook when they’re ready.
I have more news, like a contest coming up for a physical copy of Inferno and a gift card, but I’ll put that out next week when we’re a little closer. Thanks for your help, and I hope you and your families are keeping well in this never-ending dystopia we’re all living through. Take care and stay safe.
Mia Madison
Em Eldridge
Em Eldridge by far! The other sounded too matter of fact for Cassie. Yay new book so stoked!!
I prefer Mia Madison as narrator.
Happy new year! Hope you are well, and I can’t wait for inferno 😃
I buy most books in both formats kindle and audio as I spend a lot of time sick and can’t always use one or the other then I have always have access to my favourites no matter what.
I usually prefer if a series has the same narrator all the way through as it helps the flow of the story from a listeners perspective.
And being from the UK we don’t always seem to get the same access as the rest of the world, we seem to be forgotten 😕
As for your choice both women sound amazing Em Eldridge is the winner for me by just a point though hope that helps.
Em Eldridge is who I would choose
Em Eldridge definitely!! Love her voice and I’m so excited about Inferno!
Em Eldridge definitely sounds more like Cassie to me. I’m a big audiobook fan since I have a long commute to work. I can’t wait for this one to come out!
I am so excited for the news! What a great way to start 2022!
I hope you are getting time for self care and have good health!
For the audiobook, I’d recommend checking out Loren Raye: http://lorenraye.com/demos/
(She typically does commercials and is a radio personality, but does additional work too)
Of the two mentioned, I prefer Em Eldrige. (Mia seemed simultaneously detached and matter-of-fact. Inflection points were odd?)
I listened to all the audiobooks and I think Mia Madison would be a more seamless change
Em Eldridge! (I concur with the odd cadence of Mia Madison)
I loved Jorjeana Marie, but I think Em Eldridge will be great as well!!
I like Em Eldridge more for Cassie.
I did not like the reading on the samples here for her, it doesn’t have a natural flow to to reading to me but when I searched her name on audible I really like her other narrations and her voice sounds more like Jorjeana.
Em by a mile
Em Eldridge for me. She sounds younger and seems to have a broader character and inflection range.
Em Eldridge – has the better voice for these type of books.
I prefer Em Eldridge. She sounds closer to around Cassie’s age voice wise.
Mia Madison has a much more animated narrating style and rhythm to me. Mia is my pick. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to voice our opinions.
Em Eldridge sounds a lot more like Cassie to me.
I read the books and listen to Audio. I vote for Em Eldridge. She seems more like a Cassie.
I’m leaning more toward Em Eldridge but I wish I could hear more of her male voices range. Your books have a lot of accents, especially with the male characters, and if they all end up sounding like the same voice, it kind of makes it harder to follow along with the story.
Em Eldridge because she would bring a new perspective to Cassie and all the characters. She’s fun. I’ll miss Jorjeana though!
Mia Madison. I prefer the smoothness of her voice and it matches previous narrator better. Also was disappointed by Em’s southern accent — it is stereotypical — which suggests to me she may not have the range to take on the many accents necessary.
I think I like Em better, but either will work from me! Just keep Joyce Bean for Dory books please! Love your stuff thanks for all the hard work!
I will purchase the audible version either way but I vote Mia Madison. I am not familiar with either narrator but demos are available on each of their respective websites if anyone is interested. Em Eldridge provides 5 demos with a range of accents and voices. I could not discern any depth or range so I was unable to match her voices to Cassie, Pritkin, Mircea or even Marlowe. I felt she was only reading the line not bringing it to life. The samples of Mia’s voice remind me of a cup of Pritkin’s coffee. Mia offers 3 samples of her reading and while all are heavily explicit in short clips her voices breathed life into the story and I had no trouble visualizing the scene.
I’m excited! I drive for a living so I live off audiobooks. I really like Em Eldridge as narrator.
